Position Overview
The Procurement Global Category Manager is responsible for strategically planning and executing procurement activities within the business's key spend areas. This position is accountable for developing and implementing procurement strategies, optimizing supplier relationships, negotiating favorable terms and conditions, and ensuring the cost-effective and timely acquisition of high-quality goods, services, and materials essential for the company's operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, exceptional negotiation abilities, and a proven track record of driving cost savings and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Sourcing & Category Management:
Develop and execute comprehensive procurement strategies aligned with overall business objectives and financial goals.
Conduct in-depth market research, spend analysis, and supplier landscape assessments to identify opportunities for cost reduction, value enhancement, and risk mitigation.
Lead global category management efforts for key spend areas: Travel, Finance, Real Estate, Legal, Contingent Workforce, and HR.
Identify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers based on stringent criteria, including quality, cost, delivery performance, ethical practices, and innovation capabilities.
Collaborate cross-functionally with departments to understand their needs and ensure timely and effective procurement support.
Supplier Relationship & Performance Management:
Cultivate and maintain strong, collaborative, and ethical relationships with critical suppliers.
Establish and monitor supplier performance metrics (KPIs) to ensure compliance with contractual obligations, quality standards, and delivery schedules.
Conduct regular supplier business reviews (SBRs) to assess performance, drive continuous improvement, and address any non-conformance issues.
Develop and implement supplier diversification and risk management strategies to ensure supply chain resilience.
Negotiation & Contract Management:
Lead complex negotiations for contracts, long-term agreements, and purchase orders, ensuring favorable pricing, terms, and conditions that protect the company's interests.
Draft, review, and manage procurement contracts, ensuring adherence to legal and company policies.
Identify and mitigate contractual risks, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Leadership & Development:
Achieve performance objectives, provide constructive feedback to other team members, and undergo performance evaluations.
Foster a positive team environment that encourages collaboration, professional growth, and accountability.
Budgeting & Reporting:
Identify cost-saving opportunities.
Prepare and present detailed reports on category performance, savings realized, market trends, and risk assessments to senior management.
Provide forecasts and insights to support financial planning and strategic decision-making.
Qualifications:
4+ years of progressive experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management within a dynamic business environment.
3+ years of indirect corporate services procurement experience.
Proven track record of delivering significant cost savings, improving supplier performance, and optimizing procurement processes.
Experience working with various ERP systems (e.g., Oracle) and e-procurement platforms.
Demonstrated ability to negotiate complex contracts and achieve favorable outcomes.
Proficient in data analysis, financial modeling, and identifying root causes to implement effective solutions.
Ability to develop long-term procurement strategies that align with business goals.
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, capable of communicating effectively with all levels of the organization and external partners.
Solid understanding of financial principles, budgeting, and cost accounting.
Strong understanding of ethical sourcing practices and regulatory compliance.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Knowledge of international trade regulations, customs, and global sourcing best practices.
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Finance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the Media and Entertainment Industry.
Experience with Procurement AI tools and technologies
Master's degree (MBA) or professional certification (e.g., CPSM - Certified Professional in Supply Management) is highly preferred.

The compensation for this position ranges from $90,750.00 - $188,750.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience.The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
