Background

We are seeking Application Support Analyst. The candidate must have strong motivation to drive, lead and be successful in their endeavors, great teamwork and team building skills will be a key factor to the success of the team.

The ideal candidate should be technically astute, well organized, proactive and be comfortable discussing issues with business and technical users at all levels. Must have a strong IT background in RDBMS, Ab-Initio, JAVA, Cognos and Unix. Additionally, the application resides on both Unix and Windows platforms. The team supports several critical initiatives such as Basel III and CCAR Reporting.

Strong focus on communication and technical skills, system stability, quality and functionality against user expectations, problem management and resolution, including issue documentation, root cause analysis and trend analysis. Ensure all processes and procedures are being always followed to comply with audit and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Level 2 Production Support on Risk Application used by Credit Risk and Market Risk. Applications include Calc engines, Aggregation/Processing systems and various reporting tools

  • Driving efficiencies through process automation, toil reduction, employing Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles

  • Provide production runs for different internal and regulatory reporting and stressed scenarios (i.e. Base III, FRTB, CCAR…)

  • Explain and investigate issues when various risk metrics such as VaR, Stress VaR, PSE, CEM, CEF are not in line with business expectation

  • Work with different Risk reporting Teams which includes various reporting tools like Cognos/Microstrategy/Adhoc queries to decode the complex queries and maintaining the data integrity in report outcomes.

  • Perform Incident and Problem management including prioritization, root cause analysis and escalation to appropriate groups.

  • Perform root cause analysis and event correlation for all tickets, identifying preventive measures, making recommendations to fix root causes, implementing approved fixes, and post-mortems.

Qualifications

  • More than 1 years of experience in a technical environment.

  • A good understanding of production monitoring tool (Geneos, Autowatch, AppDynamics, etc..)

  • A good academic background, with at least an under-graduate degree in computer science.

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft and Linux operating systems.

  • Experience working in a support and dealing with business and technology users of the application in a support capacity.

  • Experience in dealing with complex technical issues in an application (NOT Infrastructure or desktop) support.

  • Experience with Sybase, Oracle, MongoDB / SQL and writing scripts and database queries.

  • Experience with Unix Shell Scripting.

  • Knowledge of Ab-Initio, Core Java [beneficial], Perl [beneficial], Cognos[beneficial] and Microstrategy [beneficial].

  • Personally, well organized and an excellent team player, Willingness to learn.

  • Good Analytical skills to understand and articulate issues

  • Be innovative and proactive in suggesting solutions

  • Demonstrate drive and initiative; be goal-oriented, dedicated and self-sufficient.

The position is critical to provide Production Management support for Enterprise Critical Applications Optima and CitiRisk Credit during APAC hours , including supporting regional end-users mainly from Credit Risk and Market Risk. Replacing this resource is key to ensuring proper 24x7 coverage.
