JOB SUMMARY: A highly motivated, skilled RF technician who can not only execute production level testing but also support new production introduction (NPI). NPI includes breadboarding prototypes for engineers, transitioning complex RF modules to full rate production and assisting in setup and calibration of test stands. In addition, this role will train production technicians on products and work with engineers to optimize test stands and datasheets for technician ease. Other responsibilities include building switch boxes, characterizing prototypes and supporting debug of RF modules.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Experience with RF circuitry (amplifiers, mixers, integrated microwave assemblies) down to the component level.
- Experienced in use of various test instruments, with emphasis on RF testing including use of network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power meters, power supplies, DVMs.
- Assist engineers in product design, development, and production.
- Experience working under a microscope
- Sets up, calibrates, and de-bug RF test set ups.
- Assist with test fixture development and documentation.
- Assist in failure analysis, troubleshooting, rework/repair of non-conforming products.
- Promote and support Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement activities in Manufacturing.
- Significant level of self-motivation and desire to learn new skills
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering (optional if over 4 years of RF technician experience) or equivalent, AND
- 6 years’ experience in an electronics manufacturing environment/ Equivalent military experience.
- OR Combination of education and experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within electronic assembly field
- Perform hand soldering down to 0402 size components, ability to obtain IPC Certification in time
- Ability to read schematics and make redlines per engineering guidance
- Ability to prioritize several tasks and work with a cross functional team
- Highly skilled with use of common hand tools and internal specialized tooling and fixtures.
- Able to translate use of tooling to design concept and developing fixture design.
- Well versed in utilizing all document forms: assembly, ATPs, BOMs, schematics.
- Understand product specifications and applications.
