FUNCTION:

Under general supervision, performs a variety of semi-skilled maintenance, modification, construction, and repair activities in assigned group homes. The work includes the use of hand and power tools and performance indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Proactively conduct facility reviews for maintenance and upkeep requirements. Perform preventive maintenance as scheduled and as needed to support facility upkeep. Perform maintenance work in the areas of carpentry, painting, and minor work in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, window, flooring, and roofing. Responsible for removal and installation of facility equipment and appliances. Perform seasonal home maintenance as facility or season dictate. Period periodically perform grounds maintenance, fence, and sidewalk upkeep.

Qualifications

 

REOUIREMENTS:

This position requires initiative, flexibility, simultaneously meeting multiple demands, and the proven ability to work with minimum supervision.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license from state of residence, and satisfactory driving record
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
  • Minimum of two years previous maintenance experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, site and comprehend documentation which may be f a technical nature
  • Must be able to perform basic arithmetic computations.
  • Ability to work independently, responsibly, and demonstrates personal initiative. Requires excellent oral communication skills, some written.
  • Requires excellent people handling skills in a challenging environment.
  • Ability to perform desktop functions
  • Ability to follow- oral and written instructions, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team situation.
  • Follow all Company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to maintain composure in stressful situation and react quickly and efficiently.

OTHER:

  • This position requires driving the company vehicle (up to IS passengers) and/or your personal vehicle for company business including transporting clients/residents. Must be privileged to drive according to the criteria set forth by Agency MVI guidelines.
  • Valid driver’s license in jurisdiction of residence
  • Vehicle liability coverage if driving personal vehicle (on occasion, may be require to transport clients in personal vehicle)
  • May be required to drive a van
  • Acceptable DOH background check FBI Fingerprint, OIG Exclusion  check
  • Negative Drug/ TB Screening and Health certificate   
  • CPR/ First Aid certification must be acquired and maintained once employed

 

PRIIJCI PLE ACTIVITIES:

  • Carry out unsupervised maintenance and repair work as specified in the summary
  • Use relevant hand and powered tools and equipment in maintenance tasks
  • Perform basic trade activities such as plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting, HVAC roofing work
  • Periodically cleans and flushes storm drains, sinks, toilets, showers, etc. as needed
  • Perform minor maintenance on facilities inching re placement of light fixtures, checking electrical systems, LIVAC vent, and air filter cleaning.
  • Maintains logs and records of work performed and materials red
  • Perform purchasing duties to identify, select and use material
  • Stores, inventories and requests equipment and supplies
  • Responds to emergencies as required.
  • Troubleshooting basic maintenance problems and determining solutions and making accurate calculations and recommendations.
  • Assist in supporting fleet vehicle requirements as required.
  • Ensure all duties are carried out in accordance with local Health and Safety regulations.
  • Participates in staff development opportunities and accordance with state law and regulation to enhance job-related skills and knowledge.
