About the role:
Joining our Modern Workplace team, your role will support and maintain a first-class Windows and MAC OS environment, endpoint infrastructure, collaboration technologies (including Surface Hubs and Microsoft Teams Rooms), software applications and endpoint cloud services to ensure our team have a positive experience with minimal disruption.
As a Modern Workplace Engineer, you will form part of our wider Technology Services team and work collaboratively across the broader Technology department and beyond to support the needs of a large-scale organisation. Working in a busy and dynamic environment you will be supported to innovate, propose and implement modern solutions that improve the user experience.
What's involved:
Contribute ideas to the departments strategy and support the delivery of strategic objectives.
Maintain standards, security and support the expansion and evolution of collaboration technologies.
Maintain a standard operating environment across all endpoints through patching, driver updates, policy management and software updates.
Maintain security of our systems and endpoints through security deployments and supporting cyber security assessments.
Contribute to the resolution of incidents, requests, problems, projects, risks and tasks via our ITSM platform.
Package, test, plan, deploy & maintain new solutions adhering to defined standards and processes.
Manage licensing and services that support the endpoint environment.
Liaise with other teams in the Technology department and other departments in the business to assist them with M365 requests, Windows and MAC OS support and software distribution requests.
Who we’re looking for:
You will be customer focused with well-developed communication skills both written and verbal. Having worked in a similar role, you will bring strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work with stakeholders across varying levels of the business. Ideally you will have experience or understanding of managing end points on a large scale. You will be organised and possess great time management skills.
You’ll need:
- Strong Communication, Documentation, Business Analysis and Network/Process Diagram skills are essential
- 5+ years Microsoft Environment Experience
- Enjoys interacting and communicating with clients
- Experience in the Microsoft 365 Modern Workplace suite of solutions
- Windows Server Infrastructure (Microsoft Certification an advantage)
- Microsoft 365 and Azure platform technologies
- Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune) expertise
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Entra (Azure Active Directory)
- Enterprise Backup Technologies
- Microsoft Defender (Office 365, Endpoint, Cloud)
- Cloud networking experience including AWS, Azure, and integration with on-premises environments
- Summary understanding of the Zero Trust approach to security
- Summary knowledge of cyber security best practices
AI Competency Requirements:
- Experience with Microsoft 365 Copilot
- Knowledge of Copilot Agents
- Understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs)
- AI Driven Insights and Automation
- Continuous Learning and Adaptation
Highly Favourable:
- Microsoft Certified: Identity Access Administrator Associate (SC300)
- Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate (MD100 MD101 or MD102)
- Microsoft Certified: Administrator Expert
- Cloud services expertise
- Multi data centre environment exposure
- Experience with XDR solutions
- SASE solution
