As a Regional Sales Manager – Desert Region, you would lead growth efforts for our Fire & Security business unit across Southern California and Nevada. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on building relationships, uncovering new business opportunities, and delivering impactful solutions to customers in the fire alarm, sprinkler, emergency communications, and security markets. If you enjoy working autonomously, are comfortable managing a large territory, and have the technical aptitude to communicate complex solutions with confidence, you’ll be right at home here. With a mix of travel, strategy, and customer-facing engagement, this is a rewarding opportunity to help shape the safety infrastructure of your region.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Take full ownership of your territory by independently managing your schedule and sales strategy to maximize growth opportunities.
  • Develop and execute a strategic territory plan designed to hit (and exceed!) key performance indicators and financial goals, with regular tracking and proactive adjustments.
  • Analyze market trends and customer feedback to uncover high-impact opportunities and drive targeted sales initiatives.
  • Strengthen and expand the existing customer base by identifying new areas for growth – whether by geography, industry, or product offering.
  • Partner closely with customers to roll out new products, providing guidance and training needed to ensure successful adoption.
  • Serve as a brand ambassador by representing Potter at key industry events, trade shows, and association meetings to enhance visibility and credibility.
  • Deliver persuasive, value-driven sales presentations that influence decision-makers and position Potter Fire as the preferred solution across the market.
  • Strategically manager your travel and entertainment budget, ensuring efficient and impactful use of resources throughout the year.
  • Jump in where needed – adapt and contribute to evolving priorities and special projects that support broader team and company goals.

What You Bring

Experience That Drives Success

  • Candidate must reside in the assigned geographic territory: Southern California and Nevada.
  • Minimum of 5 years of direct fire alarm or related industry sales or technical experience.
  • Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time. Occasional non-standard work hours are required for meetings and other industry events.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel for business needs is required.

Location

This is a full-time position with travel up to 75% of the time. The role will work remotely in the field and a home office environment. Candidate must reside in the following geographic region: Southern California or Nevada.
