CIS Eminent Scholar Chair should be a national and international leader in the CIS discipline. This position should enhance CIS programming, and address regional market needs.

Assignment:  To engage in scholarly research leading to publications in top-tier journals, to teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate students, to provide leadership to doctoral students, and to develop program external visibility.  Preference will be given to candidates who have expertise in Business Analytics, Big Data, Quantitative Analysis, Research Methods, Information Assurance, Networking, or Telecommunications.  Expertise in other areas will also be considered.

Qualifications:  These chairs will be filled by individuals who have combined research/scholarly/ and teaching/educational foci in which the research/scholarly focus is pre-eminent.  The standards that will be expected to meet and which will be used to evaluate applications are:  

 a national/international reputation as an eminent scholar and/or teacher within his/her discipline. 

a record of prominent leadership roles on such entities as editorial boards, advisory boards, and/or professional organizations.

an outstanding publication record.

a record of external research or recognition for innovation in teaching and the development of grants and awards.

College of Business:  The graduate and undergraduate programs are fully accredited by AACSB International.  The College also offers the only doctoral program in the northern part of Louisiana and has been designated as an  Area of University Excellence.  The college offers BS, MBA, DBA, and Graduate Certificate Programs in Information Assurance and Communication Systems.  The College is a National Center of Academic Excellence in both Cyber Defense Education and Cyber Defense research.
