Position Overview
Vantage Data Centers is looking for a Lead Analyst, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS). In this senior professional role, you will lead complex EHS initiatives and serve as a key technical expert across our data center operations. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing EHS programs that ensure regulatory compliance, reduce risk, and promote a culture of safety and operational excellence. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including construction, operations, security, logistics, compliance, corporate counsel, and human resources to drive strategic improvements and support global consistency. This position requires a highly experienced, self-directed professional with strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills who can manage high-impact EHS responsibilities across multiple domains, including but not limited to:
- Electrical Safety (Energized Electrical Work, Arc Flash)
- Control of Hazardous Energy (Lockout/Tagout)
- Occupational Noise Exposure & Control
- Heat Stress & Illness Prevention
- Exposure Assessment (Industrial Hygiene)
- Emergency Response Planning
- Working at Heights
- Confined Space Entry
- Heavy Material Handling
- Powered Industrial Trucks (Forklifts)
- Construction-Related Risks (Cranes/Rigging, Trenching/Shoring, Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (MEWPs), etc.)
- Fire/Life Safety
- Hazardous Substances Handling
- Waste Management
- Ergonomics
- Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures (SPCC)
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation methodology
- Incident management and Investigations
Essential Job Functions
- Lead the execution and continuous improvement of health and safety programs across multiple data center sites.
- Ensure alignment with global and regional health and safety standards, policies, and practices.
- Lead complex audits and inspections of operational and construction environments to identify risks and drive corrective actions.
- Design and maintain emergency response and business continuity plans.
- Oversee safety data systems and lead advanced analysis to identify trends and inform strategic decisions.
- Develop and deliver high-impact reports and presentations to senior leadership.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and advisor on advanced EHS topics.
- Lead risk identification and mitigation strategies in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Champion a proactive safety culture through leadership, training, and engagement.
Duties
- Develop and lead tracking of EHS performance metrics and strategic improvement plans.
- Lead inspections, audits, and reviews to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
- Conduct advanced workplace risk/exposure assessments and implement hazard control strategies.
- Lead complex incident investigations and ensure implementation of systemic corrective actions.
- Design and deliver advanced regulatory and internal safety training programs.
- Interpret and communicate regulatory changes and emerging industry best practices.
- Prepare and present safety performance updates and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
- Mentor and support the development of junior EHS professionals.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by Management.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Health and Safety or a related science/engineering discipline is preferred.
- 5–7 years of experience in EHS or a related field is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proven ability to lead multiple priorities and initiatives in a dynamic environment.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex problems with minimal supervision.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook software.
- Comfortable with IT systems and advanced data analysis tools.
- Positive and proactive attitude.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
- Travel required is expected to be up to 5% but may increase over time as the business evolves.
