Function Overview

Planet’s Product & Technology team have a world class vision for pushing product innovation which helps reinforce Planet’s position as a revenue generating payments partner across the Retail, Hospitality, Food & Beverage and Parking verticals. 

The role, within the Terminal Development team and reporting to the team manager, focuses on QA tasks for our payment application across terminals from four different manufacturers. This technical role involves understanding our payment solutions across various industries and integrating them with leading POS and F&B systems. You'll collaborate with Development and Solution Engineering teams, documenting features, conducting end-to-end tests, and handing over solutions. Working on multiple projects, you'll directly liaise with respective Project Managers.

Role Overview
The role is within the Terminal Development team, reporting to the team manager. This position has a focus on working within a team of QAs that perform the tests and validations of our payment application. This application runs in a payment terminal, where Planet includes on its portfolio terminals from four different manufacturers.

This is a technical role where the successful candidate will gain an understanding of our payment solutions running on all those terminals and different industries. This role also includes the understanding of the integration of payment solutions for our integration partners, these are the leading POS and F&B system providers.

The role will involve liaising with our Development and Solution Engineering teams, understanding and documenting the developed features, validating the solution with end-to-end tests and finally handing over to our Solution Engineering teams.

You will be required to work on multiple projects simultaneously liaising directly with the Project Manager for that project.

• Manage risks of new releases, creating mitigation plans

• Improve QA processes

• Advise on technical aspects across systems

• Attend meetings, providing technical advice

• Understand technical specifications

• Contribute to solution architectures

• Collaborate with QA and Development teams

• Uphold quality delivery standards

• Select and implement effective tools and processes

• Report bugs and track issues using Jira

• Communicate test results and findings

Who you are

• Technical/scientific university degree

• 2+ years of QA experience

• Test plan development skills

• Regression and automation tool experience

• Familiarity with QA software and processes

• Test automation expertise, including physical device testing

• API testing experience

• Understanding of Continuous Integration pipelines

• GIT proficiency

• Knowledge of low-powered device limitations

• Familiarity with modern QA tools and best practices

• Strong motivational and people skills

• Excellent analytical and proactive abilities

• Willingness to learn global business processes

• Effective relationship management with partners

• Good communication skills in English

• Proactive and well-organized attitude

• Skilled at multitasking and prioritizing tasks

• Team player with a willingness to assist colleagues
