The Regional Director of Talent Advancement (RDTA) serves under the direction of the Regional Vice President (RVP) to fulfill the FCA vision and pursue the FCA mission by supporting Directors in stewarding the process to recruit, hire, train, and develop a highly capable, diverse staff.
MINISTERIAL DUTIES
These responsibilities are critical to the FCA mission and this position plays a vital role in our ministry. FCA expects all functions and responsibilities outlined below to be carried out with a heart surrendered to serving God as a form of worship.
- Agree with, and abide by, FCA's Christian Community Statement.
- Follow a spiritual rhythm including daily prayer and Bible study to seek the Lord's will for FCA.
- Lead, conduct and provide spiritual leadership for staff, volunteers, coaches and athletes through prayer, Bible study, worship and living by example so they are equipped to serve others.
- Connect to and participate in a local church through worship and weekly involvement.
- Conduct yourself in a manner that affirms biblical standards of conduct in accordance with FCA's Christian beliefs (see FCA's Christian Community Statement) at all times.
TALENT ADVANCEMENT
Coordinate recruiting, hiring, training and developing effective and diverse staff aligned with FCA's ministry strategy and discipleship methods for the region.
- Recruit: Actively recruit and train staff to effectively implement FCA's recruiting initiatives to attract highly qualified staff prospects to specific vocational ministry opportunities identified in the vision-based staffing plans.
- Hire: Coach and develop Directors to select candidates to fulfill specific roles and responsibilities based upon their calling, character, competence, commitment and chemistry
- Train: Share knowledge, resources and provide instruction necessary to develop the culture, increase capacity, and build competence to effectively execute their responsibilities and fulfill their potential.
- Develop: Coach Directors in creating environments where staff can lead self, lead others, lead teams and lead organizationally in their current roles, growing personally and professionally and becoming prepared for future opportunities.
DONOR ADVANCEMENT
- Connect, communicate and care for existing and prospective financial partners to ensure that the ministry is fully funded. This includes building a Home Team that consists of Automatic Monthly Partners (AMP) and Recurring Funding Partners (RFP).
- Submit an annual budget for all expenses as assigned by supervisor. Additionally, manage and steward the finances for the assigned area of responsibility. The budget should be funded through Home Team, along with Major Donors and Event.
ORGANIZATIONAL SYNERGY
- Represent the region through serving on the Talent Advancement team along with other Regional Directors of Talent Advancement, the Training team and Human Resources to create synergy and provide organizational alignment, clarity, and continuous improvement of talent advancement systems, processes, policies and procedures.
- Provide consistent communication regarding all regional, national and global ministry initiatives and updates to assure clarity and alignment.
- Collaborate with other Regional Directors of Talent Advancement to assess and implement potential new processes.
- Provide key input from the Region for national/global advisory teams and task forces.
- Provide clear, precise information on all talent advancement initiatives and updates in order to drive to regional clarity and organizational alignment.
- Maintain a current knowledge and expertise on key FCA print and digital resources available to equip field staff in the execution of their talent advancement responsibilities. Assess emerging resources in region for possible broader use.
This position requires residency within the Pacific Northwest region of Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana.
