Coordinates outside and inside tooling by gathering requirements from engineering and production. Then working with the toolroom to minimize lead time. This individual will place, track, and expedite tool orders both internally and through our outside venders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate daily with engineering and production teams to define, document, and prioritize new and spare tooling requirements and schedule priorities.
- Analyze carbide tooling demand and assess internal capacity to proactively coordinate procurement activities.
- Partner with tooling and raw material vendors to evaluate performance, implement process improvements, and drive cost reduction initiatives.
- Negotiate price breakdowns with vendors, ensuring cost transparency and alignment with budgetary targets.
- Reviews, evaluates, and proposes vendor quotes for final management approval based on cost, compliance, and delivery.
- Maintain and report real-time status of all outstanding tooling and raw material orders to ensure visibility.
- Perform precision inspections on incoming tooling and raw materials using calibrated measurement instruments to verify conformance to engineering blueprints and technical specifications.
- Use marking equipment to mark tools and material for lot control and traceability.
- Prepares/maintains records/documents.
- Must be able to perform duties from written and verbal instruction, sketches, diagrams, blueprints, visual aids, and memory recall.
- Report immediately all suspicious and hazardous conditions to a manager.
- Understand and observe all safety guidelines and assure quality and safety by complying with all appropriate Click Bond policies and procedures.
- Demonstrates a willingness to learn and embrace new challenges.
- Assist in maintaining clean, orderly, and hazard-free work areas.
- Must be a self-starter and be detail oriented.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate the following competencies:
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering, production, and vendor teams.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
- Accurate basic math skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis on Excel for quote and cost tracking.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Blueprint reading preferred.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Background in purchasing, tooling coordination, or supply chain operations preferred.

- Moderate to frequent lifting or moving of medium weight materials. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds with assistance.
- Use of hand/fingers regularly through shift to manipulate components, tools, etc.
- Regularly required to sit or stand for the length of shift, bend, and reach.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Work performed in a manufacturing environment. May be exposed to noise, smells, heat, dust, etc. Work requires the observance of fire regulations and safe work practices.
