Technical Support Engineer
Location: Belgium.
Job description:
As a Technical Support Engineer, you will be the technical point of contact for customers and sales colleagues regarding our KGS product portfolio. After your induction period you will provide independent support and answer technical questions by phone, email, TeamViewer, or on site, if necessary. Providing technical product training is also a part of your job description.
You will work from our office in Diegem or Roeselare, together with your colleagues from the Technical Support department, and you will report to the Technical Support Manager.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
- Answering incoming technical questions in a professional and customer-friendly manner by phone, email, TeamViewer, and Sales Force Service Cloud.
- Providing fast and efficient technical solutions to customer problems or complaints.
- Visiting customers on site to resolve product-related issues.
- Providing technical product training and developing and updating product training courses.
- Building and maintaining product knowledge.
- Reporting and helping to resolve technical software and hardware issues in collaboration with our COE (Center of Excellence) and Product Management.
- Testing new products, firmware, and software updates.
- Advising on the most suitable products or solutions that meet customer needs and requirements.
- Creating and translating application notes, release notes, and service notes.
- Supporting the implementation of our products.
- Supporting account managers at events to professionally present and demonstrate our products.
Key requirements:
- Education diploma in a technical field (such as electronics, electricity, electromechanics), or a comparable vocational training program.
- At least 3 years of relevant work/installation experience.
- Thorough technical knowledge of commercial fire detection systems.
- Experience with and knowledge of the KGS product portfolio – a strong advantage.
- Language skills: English and French – a must, Dutch – strongly preferred.
- Customer-oriented, good communication skills, solution-oriented attitude.
- Helpful and collegial attitude.
- Good practical knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office.
- Possession of a driver's license.
