Are you a skilled Plant Fitter/Engineer with a passion for working on a wide range of hire equipment? At Jarvie Plant, you’ll play a vital mobile role in keeping our fleet, including plant machinery, tools, and site equipment, in peak condition. Based out of our Nairn Depot and covering customer sites across the Highlands, you'll be on the road daily, ensuring equipment is maintained, repaired and presented in excellent working condition for our customer. Whether it’s construction, industrial, or events-based, your expertise keeps our kit working safely and reliably.

How This Role Supports the Delivery of Hire Solutions:

As a Plant Field Service Engineer your work is key to the delivery of our high-quality hire solutions. You’ll reduce downtime, respond quickly to issues, and carry out effective on-site maintenance, keeping our customers moving. Your role supports operational reliability, customer satisfaction, and the reputation Jarvie Plant has built for dependable service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend customer sites across the Highlands to diagnose and repair faults on plant, tools, and site equipment
  • Carry out scheduled servicing, inspections, and emergency repairs on-site
  • Replace worn parts, filters, and fluids to maintain equipment safety and performance
  • Provide technical guidance and practical support to customers directly at site
  • Maintain accurate service records and complete job documentation
  • Source, manage, and fit parts as needed to complete repairs efficiently
  • Adhere to all Health & Safety procedures, including risk assessments and checks
  • Escalate complex faults or issues to the Service Manager as needed
  • Represent Jarvie Plant with professionalism, delivering excellent service in the field

What Will Make You a Great Fit:

  • Demonstrated experience working with Plant, generators and/or similar equipment, preferably in the plant hire, construction, or industrial sectors.
  • Solid understanding of Plant Mechanics, operation, maintenance, and fault diagnosis.
  • Ability to work independently and resolve issues promptly and effectively.
  • Relevant qualifications in electrical or mechanical engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • A CSCS Gold Card (preferred).
  • Strong communication skills, especially in explaining technical issues clearly.
  • A customer-first mindset.
  • A full UK driving licence.
