Our challenge

We are seeking a skilled Power BI Developer with a strong background in Business Intelligence (BI) development and a solid understanding of the banking and capital markets industries. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing and implementing BI solutions, leveraging various data technologies, and delivering insightful reports and dashboards to support strategic decision-making.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Charlotte, NC is $100k - $103k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance Power BI dashboards and reports to meet business requirements.
  • Translate business needs into effective BI solutions, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Design and implement data models, queries, and visualizations to optimize performance and usability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver actionable insights.
  • Work within Agile methodologies, utilizing tools such as Jira and Confluence for project tracking and documentation.
  • Integrate data from diverse sources, including Apache Iceberg, Dremio, Apache Parquet, Spark, and Python-based tools.
  • Conduct data analysis and support data-driven decision-making in banking and capital markets contexts.

Requirements:

  • 5-7 years of development experience on Business Intelligence projects, with a focus on data visualization and reporting.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with BI visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent.
  • Strong SQL skills, with at least 4 years of experience working with complex queries and database management.
  • Working knowledge of data technologies such as Apache Iceberg, Dremio, Apache Parquet, Spark, and Python.
  • Prior experience working within banking and capital markets sectors.
  • Proven experience working in Agile environments, familiar with Jira, Confluence, and related tools.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred, but not required:

  • Experience with data warehousing and ETL processes.
  • Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance standards relevant to banking and capital markets.
