About the team:
As a Partnership Manager at Worldpay for China, you will play a critical role in shaping and driving our growth across the APAC region.

Reporting into the Head of Partnerships APAC, this position offers a unique opportunity to build long-lasting relationships with strategic partners across the APAC market.  These partnerships will help to shape the strategy of our Go-To-Market team and measurably impact the growth of the company.

You will focus on our most valuable ecosystems in region, creating and executing on our partner strategy. These partnerships will be vital in unlocking new addressable market in Worldpay’s strategically aligned verticals. Working alongside colleagues in the team across APAC, you will work to refine and improve our partner strategy and execution.

What you’ll own

  • Identify, cultivate, and manage high-value account alliances and relationship programs to generate sales opportunities across China and the APAC region.
  • Recruit, develop, and maintain strategic partner alliances, overseeing a robust pipeline of partnership opportunities.
  • Drive partner retention and satisfaction by ensuring the continuous growth of accounts and the successful execution of partnership initiatives.
  • Act as a brand ambassador, championing Worldpay’s products and services in collaboration with key partners to foster mutually beneficial relationships.
  • Analyse program trends, providing actionable insights and recommendations to senior management to optimize strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders across APAC to align on goals, strategies, and objectives, building awareness and support for the overall value of partnerships.
  • Conduct financial analysis, long-range forecasting, and in-depth studies to evaluate potential alliances and partnerships, alongside the vertical growth teams.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of partnership programs, tracking sales impact and overall alliance success within the portfolio.
  • Stay vigilant of competitor activities within accounts, proactively implementing strategies to maintain market dominance and prevent competitor encroachment.
  • Perform other related duties as required, contributing to the overall success of the Global Enterprise Partnership team.
  • This role is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned partnership professional with a strong track record in strategic alliance management, looking to make a significant impact on Worldpay’s growth and success across China the APAC region.

What you’ll bring

  • A strong understanding of how companies like Worldpay drive value through partner referral networks
  • A deep understanding of the China and Hong Kong payments industry and its broader role in the merchant value chain
  • A broad understanding of the APAC payments industry and its broader role in the merchant value chain (Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, China, Japan, Malaysia, India, Thailand, Hong Kong and South Korea)
  • A strong understanding of the Merchant Acquiring ecosystem
  • Well-connected across the payment network, established relationships with main payments ecosystem players and partner
  • Proven track record in partner/channel environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in complex technical detail and aggregate key points in a direct, impactful manner for non-technical and executive audiences
  • Deep knowledge of various operating models around merchant or partner introduction, on boarding, compliance, contracts.
  • Proficiency in Mandarin and Cantonese languages

It’s a bonus if you have

  • General understanding of cross-border payments and the players in this space.
  • Knowledge of international and local card schemes and alternative payment methods
  • In-depth experience working with payment providers
  • Proficiency in Korean and Japanese languages will be an added advantage
