Location: West Hospital – Neurology Department
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (No weekends or holidays)
We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Registration Specialist to join our Neurology team at West Hospital. This role is essential in ensuring a smooth and professional experience for patients from the moment they arrive through their entire visit.
Key Responsibilities- Facilitate patient flow from entry to destination in a timely and professional manner
- Collect and verify financial and demographic information to support accurate billing and clinical outcomes
- Schedule appointments and interview patients for relevant medical information
- Explain departmental charges and hospital policies clearly to patients
- Validate and enter charges into appropriate systems; collect necessary payments
- Answer incoming calls and direct patients and visitors appropriately
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA (preferred)
- 1–2 years of experience in a healthcare setting (preferred)
- Familiarity with medical coding (ICD-10, CPT) and willingness to learn and retain coding practices
- Ability to interpret insurance information; knowledge of clinical practices and medical terminology (preferred)
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Be part of a dedicated team in a specialized neurology department
