McDermott Aviation, headquartered in Cooroy, is Australia’s largest privately-owned helicopter company. We are seeking an experienced and proactive Training Coordinator to join our Cooroy-based team. In this pivotal role, you’ll drive engaging and effective training solutions that build individual capability and support organisational growth.

About the Role

This role is responsible for planning, delivering, and improving training across the business. You’ll work closely with HR, managers, and key stakeholders to identify training needs, coordinate delivery, support trainees and apprentices, and maintain records and reporting systems.

We’re seeking someone with strong training coordination experience, who can work independently, stay across deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and deliver training programs for internal teams
Conduct organisation-wide training needs assessments to identify skill gaps
Create instructional materials and educational resources
Liaise with internal stakeholders and external providers to coordinate training delivery
Coordinate “train-the-trainer” sessions with subject matter experts
Track training records and ensure compliance and audit readiness
Evaluate training effectiveness and contribute to continuous improvement
Support annual planning and implementation of training programs across departments
Provide general HR administrative support when required

What You’ll Bring

Cert IV in Workplace Training and Assessment or relevant tertiary qualification
Demonstrated experience in developing and coordinating training sessions (operational/safety focus preferred)
Experience mentoring or coaching in a professional setting
Strong understanding of training best practices and learning technologies
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SharePoint
Excellent communication, time management, and planning skills
Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
