Wood is currently recruiting for an experienced Construction QC Engineer, for a 12 months contract at our Client Site in Ploiesti -Romania.

The Role
You will liaise with Site Quality Control Manager and construction supervision team providing support in the implementation, maintenance, monitoring and reporting on the status of Construction QC management systems and deliverables.

The key objectives for this role are:
- Assist in the planning, development and execution of quality programmes in compliance with contract/project execution and quality plan arrangements
- Set-up and population of completion and turnover database
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of quality plans / specifications to meet contractual requirements
- Assist in the maintenance, documentation and deployment of Wood Quality Management Systems
- Assist in the quality review and approval of product/material requisitions
- Review subcontractor ents
- Liaise & assist with Subcontractor submission of Quality Management Systems, quality plans and ITP’s, documentation and records ensuring they meet stated requirements prior to work commencing.
- Review and comment on Subcontractor procedures and ITPs
- Conduct quality inductions for Wood field supervision in respect of the Site Quality Plan, ITP’s, job descriptions, GDP, and issue QC inspection stamps.
- Monitor QC inspection in accordance with approved ITPs for all parties
- Conduct assessments of the Contractors for compliance with QC related procedures and ITPs and retain records of the assessments and the status of any corrective measures
- Monitor daily reports for Surveillance Inspection by Wood supervision
- Provide a focal point for Request for Inspection submissions by Subcontractors
- Identify quality related deficiencies/problems and issue appropriate notifications/reports for effective resolution (NCR)
- Import and Export Data for Discrepancy / Non-compliance Evaluation, and follow-up on resolutions
- Ensure Subcontractors QC records are approved, maintained, indexed and available to assist handover of the completed plant to the Client
- Maintain a list of quality issues encountered during the execution of the works or raised by the Client for inclusion in the project lessons learned
- Ensure that the inspection test pack / quality records of the work are progressively collected, indexed, and available to support a phased systematic acceptance and handover of the plant to Owner
- Prepare weekly QC status reports
- Proactive involvement with completion and handover activities
- Support turnover team for collecting relevant QC records
- Follow overall system integrity in order to maintain and control databases ensuring as smooth merging and/or integration of data coming from Package vendors or from discipline database update
- Attend Kick off meetings and establish how defined quality requirements will be implemented
- Promote the awareness of quality principles through targeted communication, education and training
- Support lessons learned and continuous improvement processes
- Assist implementation of local management reviews and reporting of metrics and KPI’s

Expected:
- Graduate in Engineering
- Be conversant with the implementation of construction QC systems
- Be conversant with international standards, such as EN standard and AMSE code requirements and have a solid and demonstrated background on welding engineering (e.g. multiple-day courses by internationally recognized institutes)
- Be conversant with Romanian regulations ISCIR, INSEMEX, ISU, AFER, ANRE, RENAR, ISC
- Minimum of 5 years previous Quality experience (EPC contracts)
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft office
- Availability to assignments
Desirable:
- Previous experience in the application of EN1090 (structural steel) and Pressure Equipment Directive PED (for piping)
- Quality Auditor qualification by recognised industry body
- Be familiar with Construction completion and turnover management process
