The Director, Life Sciences for the Europe, Middle East, & Africa region (EMEA) leads the regional execution of the current activities related to Life Sciences: e.g. the Medical Device, Pharma, Clinical, and Training teams. Ensuring achievement of financial and business goals aligned with the NSF mission, values, and strategy. The Director Life Sciences EMEA would be responsible for geographical/divisional expansion of the activities in the region together with the VP Life Sciences, based in the United States. Life Sciences is a global business unit covering various sectors of the life sciences industry providing new and existing NSF clients delivering expert clinical research, consulting, auditing, and training solutions. This position reports directly to NSF VP of EMEA with matrix reporting to the Divisional VP, Life Sciences based out of our Headquarters in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
- Develop and implements the global consulting and training strategies, partnering with other regions to develop innovative and responsive solutions, in line with global regulatory and technological advancements
- Conduct global business analysis to ensure progress toward KPIs and timelines, mitigate risk, and ensure achievement of business and financial metrics related to cutting edge consultation and training services
- Participate in business development and marketing activities to promote division sciences consulting and training services, focusing efforts on relationship expansion and client retention
- Successfully deliver and grow EMEA P&Ls
- Work with operational managers to drive performance and cost-effective improvement of operational measures
- Report on relevant KPI performance
- Manage client liaison and relationships to ensure profitable growth of the accounts and deal with complaints to the satisfaction of the clients and NSF alike.
- Assist in the identification of business development opportunities with the Sales and Marketing plans/campaigns in line with the Global Life Sciences strategy.
- Work with co-leaders to develop a culture of engaged, high performing, developed and accountable talent to support the organization. - Serve as a strong motivator and leader for team members, inspiring talent to achieve higher levels of performance.
- Assisting in developing the business unit’s budget aligned with the leadership team
- Present the budget, impact, positioning, deliverables, and resources to ensure achievement of revenue and margins as defined in the strategy and goals
- Check outputs for quality and accuracy to minimize any complaints or re-processing of information.
- Ensure full compliance with all relevant policies & procedures
- Operate within company authorization levels, personnel policies, health & safety procedures and all relevant standards of compliance
- Bachelor's degree in business, science or a related field or equivalent by experience
- Strong’ experience in a business leadership or general management role
- Pharmaceutical and Medical Device industry experience is required
- Regulatory expertise in ICH, GXP, ISO13485, ISO 14971, EUMDR/IVDR, 21CFR
- Experience developing and implementing strategy
- Demonstrated experiencing leading and driving results in both remote and hybrid work environments.
- Expertise in leading a global program and/or regional operation, including the ability to identify market trends, acquisition targets, and innovative services
- Proven ability owning/managing P&L including allocating resources and managing expenses to achieve or exceed revenue and profit targets
- Demonstrated capacity to build strong customer relationships, understand customer needs and deliver customer-centric solutions aligned with the mission and goals
- Strong leadership skill, aptitude to select & develop talent, build trust & coach team members and develop other leaders
- Solid business acumen, including the ability to interpret financial indicators, adopt innovative ideas
- Be able to illustrate and deliver organizational messages using various communication modes for transparency and clarity
- Act as a model of all NSF core values: highest ethics and integrity, respect and care for one another, promote personal and professional growth, foster innovation and creativity. And demonstrate social and environmental responsibility
- Behave in a collaborative way with a global mindset and engage with internal and external stakeholders across regions, divisions and functions to achieve business results
- High proficiency in spoken and written English, any other EU language will be an asset
This hybrid role will be preferably based out of Germany (Office in Hamburg)
