Wincanton is looking for an HR/People Advisor to join the transport operation at our Sainsbury’s Distribution Centre site, in East Kilbride. The People Team at this site supports around 200 colleagues.
You will work within this small, busy team to provide a professional service covering all aspects of employee relations, the colleague lifecycle, recruitment, engagement and D&I initiatives.
This role is based at the East Kilbride site, the hours of work are 8am – 4pm.
How will you contribute?
- Providing high quality advice and generalist HR support across the site
- Manage an employee relations caseload, advising on legislative and company policy and procedures
- Develop effective on-going relationships at all levels establishing yourself as a credible, respected and valued People Advisor, responding to queries directly and influencing Managers to follow a best practice approach
- Assist departmental Managers on the interpretation and implementation of company policies and procedures as well as local agreements
- Compile and analyse management information/data
- Assist in the coaching, mentoring and development of the management team
What will you bring?
- HR experience in similar role
- Experience of supporting managers with employee relations issues
- Ideally possess an HR degree or CIPD qualification
- Competent knowledge of UK employment law, GDPR and Health and Safety
- Must have excellent organisational skills and initiative, with the ability to manage the day-to-day HR processes effectively
- Excellent IT skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint including HR databases
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Flexibility with hours to meet needs of operation
