INTERN – MAS Foundation for Change

The MAS Foundation for Change’s aims to prevent at least 02 million kilograms of waste entering the ocean each year through Sri Lanka’s waterways by deploying simple, cost-effective technologies that trap floating debris in the island’s most polluted waterways.

As an Intern of MAS Foundation for Change, you will gain necessary exposure on financial management, grant management, management reporting, operations support including assisting teams on procurement, logistics management and compliance. You will also liaise with different internal teams based on tasks assigned to you.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitoring & Evaluation:

  • Assist in attending the periodic monitoring visits and update both quantitative and qualitative information to showcase the impact of the projects.
  • Support in doing data analysis with the collected data, compiling research data, maintaining records in the database.
  • Support in doing the internal review based on the monitoring findings.
  • Assist in collecting information, case stories for the reporting requirement of the organization.
  • Support in updating the collection of the waste from each Ocean Strainer and update the data sheet periodically.
  • Assist in waste quantification and research work

Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Competencies

  • Academic degree or related educational qualifications in Waste Management, Environmental Studies and Monitoring & Evaluation.
  • Good command in English and Sinhala languages.
  • Ability to take part in field monitoring visit within Colombo district and outside of the Colombo district.
  • Good knowledge in collecting and analysing data for use in content writing and report writing.
