The Opportunity:
As a Therapeutic Area Lead Medical Affairs, you will be responsible for the execution of the tactical field plans for engagement with the medical/scientific community in the designated therapeutic area at the affiliate level. This includes coordinating and executing medical/scientific activities to: understanding local external environment and data gaps; gathering data from the field that generates medical insights and being trusted advisor for scientific exchange to key stakeholders throughout the product life cycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand, align, and engage with external stakeholders to advance the understanding of and science behind compounds in development, the safe and effective use of Astellas products and disease states that they treat.
- Responsible for engaging in scientific exchange with Key External Experts in relevant TA
- Maintain medical and scientific knowledge and staying current to enable peer-to-peer scientific exchange.
- Demonstrates high level of proficiency in interpersonal skills to engage effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Actively build compliant and value-added bridges between internal colleagues by working to remove barriers to collaboration (i.e. strategic and tactical plans collaboration, Account Management, Omnichannel)
- Training of field representatives, participation in international and national congresses, physician meetings, and educational events for doctors
Essential Knowledge & Experience:
- Solid professional experience in Pharmaceutical industry, Medical Affairs experience is preferred.
- Strong expertise in the therapeutic area including clinical/ hospital practice, clinical development, experience in designing, executing and reporting of clinical trials can be considered.
- Foundational understanding of the drug development process as well as commercialization and strong understanding and knowledge of industry laws and regulations.
- Knowledgeable on local health care environment and health care dynamics.
- Preferable a good understanding of the dynamics of a large corporate environment; comfortable with matrix reporting lines.
- Excellent presentation skills; fully fluent in written and verbal business English.
Preferred Experience:
- Doctoral degree (MD, PhD in health related science or PharmD).
Education:
- Master degree in Health related Science or equivalent.
Additional information:
- This is a permanent full-time position.
- Position is based in Bulgaria.
- This position is field-based in Bulgaria and 20-30% travel is expected in line with your role.
