Mō tēnei tūranga | About the opportunity
As the Manager, Capital Assurance and Governance you lead assurance and governance practices across our capital investment portfolio. Reporting to the GM Capital Portfolio Management and Governance, this role is pivotal in ensuring disciplined project and programme management through independent peer reviews, execution phase oversight, and post-investment evaluations.
You’ll be responsible for developing and applying standards, identifying improvement opportunities, and providing independent insights into capital performance. Your work will directly influence investment quality, governance, and long-term value creation across the organisation.
Some of your key responsibilities include:
- Leading independent peer reviews and execution phase assessments
- Developing and monitoring capital and schedule standards
- Conducting post-investment reviews and benchmarking
- Driving implementation of learnings across the Group
- Leading discussions on value drivers, uncertainty, and flexibility
- Coaching and mentoring team members to foster a high-performance culture
- Collaborating across teams to align interests and deliver enterprise-wide outcomes
Ideally, you will be based in Auckland.

You’re a seasoned finance professional with a passion for governance, assurance, and strategic investment evaluation. You bring a strong mix of analytical rigour, leadership capability, and stakeholder engagement, and thrive in a collaborative, high-impact environment.
To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:
- A degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics or Business Administration
- Significant experience in strategic decision-making, capital strategy, and governance
- Proven experience in investment evaluation, commercial assessment, and decision support
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
- Advanced proficiency in financial modelling tools and software
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- A collaborative mindset and commitment to continuous improvement
