We are currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled Payroll Specialist to join our HR Team.

How the Position Works

We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will handle payroll processing for multi-state employees. You will play a crucial part in ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency in payroll. This role also requires a strong interest and ability to learn and understand our benefit plan over the next year, with the goal of supporting its administration and becoming a subject matter expert, in addition to fulfilling core payroll responsibilities. This role requires a hybrid work schedule, in the office on Tuesdays/Thursdays.

Key Responsibilities include:

*Process bi-weekly payroll for approximately 2000 employees across 25 states, ensuring accuracy and compliance with state-specific regulations

• Manage payroll functions for exempt and non-exempt employees, including garnishments and tax filings

• Prepare and submit organizational reports related to payroll and benefits

• Utilize Dayforce (Ceridian) to manage payroll operations and ensure seamless data handling

• Conduct audits to ensure payroll accuracy while identifying and resolving discrepancies

• Collaborate with accounting teams to integrate payroll data into financial reporting

• Stay updated on federal, state, and local payroll regulations to ensure compliance

• Provide support in the design and analysis of employee compensation plans

What you need to be successful:

· Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field preferred

· 3–5 years of experience in payroll processing, ideally in a multi-state environment

· Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll laws and benefit regulations, including FMLA, ACA, COBRA, and ERISA

· Hands-on experience with Dayforce (Ceridian) or similar payroll/HRIS systems

· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications

· Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial recordkeeping

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify discrepancies and resolve issues proactively

· Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism

· Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain payroll processes to employees at all levels

· Payroll certification (e.g., FPC, CPP) a plus
