ACCOUNTING MANAGER

Reports to: CFO  

Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Accounting Manager to oversee daily accounting operations, ensure compliance with financial regulations, and drive process improvements. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of accounting principles, leadership skills, and experience in managing an accounting team in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting / Budgeting:
  • Prepare, review, and analyze monthly financial statements including OEM submissions
  • Assist in the development and management of the annual budget and periodic forecasts
  • Analyze variances between actual and budgeted results and provide insights
  • Lead financial review meetings with operational teams

Annual Audit & Tax:

  • Provide Annual Audit & Tax Compliance support

Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and systems
  • Implement automation and best practices to improve efficiency

Compliance & Controls:

  • Ensure compliance with FET and Sales tax regulations and reporting
  • Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure financial accuracy
  • Coordinate and manage internal audits

Other Duties:

  • Assist with daily / monthly banking transactions
  • Prepare, review, and analyze monthly financial statements for Palmer family entities 
  • Oversee payroll, fixed assets, and bank reconciliations

Qualifications and Other Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or equivalent preferred).
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel

Physical Requirements

  • Mobility: Ability to move around the office or different company locations.
  • Vision/Hearing: adequate eyesight and visual acuity to work with computers and read technical documents. hearing to communicate with coworkers and clients, and listen to phone conversations
  • Manual dexterity: ability to operate computers, keyboards, and other technical equipment
  • Lifting: Ability to lift and move equipment such as computers, servers, and other hardware. 25-50 lbs.
  • Driving: Ability to drive to Palmer Locations for onsite visits. 
  • Hours Worked: Willingness to be flexible with working hours when needed to meet project deadlines or handle emergencies.
