Description
The primary responsibility of the Floor Technician is to keep all floors throughout the facility maintained to meet standards of quality, quantity, and safety.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
- Ability to process information accurately, make appropriate decisions and take appropriate action based upon the information available.
- Prior experience in floor maintenance field preferred.
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
- Current Virginia driver’s license and meets driver eligibility requirements per Sunnyside policy HR069.
- Ability to work independently without close supervision.
- Ability to work with confidential information and maintain its’ integrity.
- Strong customer service skills; maintain a hospitality approach when engaging all individuals.
Requirements
- Evaluate and determine cleanliness of floors; based on evaluation, perform duties to maintain standards for cleanliness.
- Clean and scrub dining area floors as scheduled
- Vacuum all common hallways daily.
- Shampoo all common carpeted areas monthly and as needed.
- Operate extractor, clean heavy traffic areas and spots in all halls using correct measurement of cleaning chemicals and perform extracting timely.
- Shampoo ground floor traffic areas weekly and as needed.
- Maintain all outside entry areas on a weekly basis to keep them free from debris.
- Handle floor cleaning chemicals and solvents safely and keep stored properly.
- Report housekeeping and maintenance requests by completing appropriate form within appropriate time frame. Also reports all unsafe working conditions or equipment malfunctions immediately to supervisor.
- Maintain equipment used to perform daily duties, ensuring cleanliness and inventory of supplies.
- Discern cleanliness of all flooring areas.
- Other duties as assigned.
