About the role:

We’re looking for an experienced HR Manager to join our team in Austin. In this role, you’ll be a trusted partner to both employees and leadership across the organization—focused on onboarding, compliance, employee relations, HRIS administration, and employee engagement. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, high-touch environment and brings strong judgment, empathy, and a commitment to operational excellence.

What You’ll Do

Onboarding & Employee Experience

  • Manage full-cycle onboarding, including new hire paperwork and system setup
  • Lead engaging and informative new hire orientation (in English and Spanish when needed)
  • Act as a primary point of contact for new hires, ensuring a smooth and supportive onboarding experience

Employee Relations & Team Support

  • Respond to employee questions, concerns, and requests with professionalism and confidentiality
  • Provide frontline support on employee relations issues; escalate as needed in partnership with HR leadership
  • Serve as a liaison to Spanish-speaking team members across multiple locations

Compliance & Policy Administration

  • Conduct internal audits (I-9s, certifications, labor law postings, safety training)
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Maintain and communicate company policies to ensure clarity and accessibility across all teams

HRIS & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate employee data in HRIS systems (Paylocity preferred)
  • Generate and analyze reports related to turnover, retention, staffing, and compliance
  • Support data accuracy and digital recordkeeping across platforms

Leave Tracking & Payroll Coordination

  • Track employee leave (medical, parental, sick, etc.) and ensure accurate documentation
  • Partner with benefits and payroll teams to ensure proper reporting and communication

Culture & Recognition

  • Lead internal recognition programs for birthdays, anniversaries, and milestones
  • Support and execute engagement initiatives that celebrate team contributions and build morale

Special Projects

  • Contribute to cross-functional HR projects that improve systems, communication, and the employee experience

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

  • 7+ years of HR experience, ideally in hospitality, restaurants, or a multi-unit environment
  • Fluency in Spanish (written and spoken) is a strong plus
  • Hands-on experience with HRIS systems (Paylocity preferred)
  • Solid working knowledge of employment law and compliance best practices
  • Track record of successfully managing onboarding, engagement, and employee relations initiatives
  • Exceptional communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • High level of discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive information

Work Environment & Requirements

  • Must be available on-call during select weekends
  • Regular computer use, sitting, and occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs
