Manufacturing Engineering Intern

Description

 Assist manufacturing engineers in the design and implementation of manufacturing tools and processes; collaborate with manufacturing teams to improve production process efficiency; assist in the training of operators on processes; assist in creating drawings and process work instruction documentation.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

· Pursuing a BS degree in a manufacturing or engineering related discipline is required.

· Must be proficient in operation of a computer and using Microsoft word, excel, and outlook.

· Ability to communicate and work well with a cross functional team.

· SolidWorks or other CAD experience preferred.

· 3D printing and machine maintenance preferred.

· Attention to detail in documentation and standardizing processes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Assist in the designing and building of production tools using Solidworks.

· Coordinate with productions teams to implement and trouble shoot tooling.

· Support the creation and maintenance of drawings, process documentation and work instructions.

· Aid in the identification and implementation of process and assembly improvements.

· Oversee 3D printer operation and develop 3D printed tooling.

· Maintain tooling material inventory and purchase supplies for the team as needed.

· Incorporate proper geometric design and tolerancing on detailed drawings. 

· Research the feasibility and performance of equipment, components, and systems as needed.

· Assist in hands on manufacturing of products as needed

· Troubleshoot process and equipment failures and coordinate actions to restore functionality.

· Support installation, operation, maintenance, and repair to ensure that any assigned equipment is installed and functioning according to specifications.

· Assist in Lean activities (layouts, process maps, VSM, Kaizen events, training, etc.).

· Assist manufacturing engineering or production with any other duties as assigned.
