Job Description Summary

Sr Electronics system Design engineer will be responsible for defining, designing, and overseeing the development of the hardware infrastructure for electronic control systems for the Mark Vie product. You will work as part of the cross functional Global team of engineers creating and improving a state-of-the-art platform for use in every kind of power generation application.

Essential Responsibilities

As the Sr Electronics System Design engineer, you will:

• Engage in new product introduction and ensure alignment in both technical and business needs on hardware designs. Collaborate with cross functional teams including, software, firmware mechanical, manufacturing, application & safety team to define system level requirements and interfaces.
• Develop the system requirements for high-speed digital, analog and mixed designs, define targets of solution reliability, System level FMEA, Safety, Regulatory compliance, Manufacturability, Backward compatibility, Maintenance, sustenance, field upgrades, solution cost and overall product life cycle CTQs.
• Analyze tradeoffs in design choices regarding cost, performance, power and manufacturability.
• Design, program and validate FPGA-based solutions for interfacing real-time microprocessor systems to high-speed Networks and I/O
• Conduct board level reliability analysis, component stress analysis and board level FMEA.
• Ensure that hardware designs meet system requirements, performance benchmarks and industry standards.
• Mentor and guide the hardware development team, including schematic capture, PCB layout, board bring-up, and testing. 
• Ensuring that the hardware design complies with relevant standards (e.g., EMC/EMI, CE, UL). 
• Lead and drive formal design review. Identify and track key process performance metrics.
• Track technology trends, work with partners and design team to drive innovations in the product. Perform feasibility studies, proof of concepts.
• Look for failure trends in solutions and feed the lessons learnt back into process through suggestions on improvements. Analyze fleet level issues and lead/ participate in the RCAs.
• Identify and lead cost-out and productivity ideas & opportunities.
• Participate in organizational initiatives.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor / Master in Electronics, Electronics & communication Engineering or equivalent.
• 15 + years of experience in electronic hardware design with at least 3 + years in a system role.
• Strong background on digital and analog circuit design including microcontrollers, FPGA power supply design and signal integrity.
• Expertise in high-speed protocols (PCIe, DDR, USB ethernet).
• Deep understanding of system integration (HW. software codesign.
• Familiarity with product life cycle, DFM / DFT principles and reliability analysis
• Experience with simulation tools   
• Proven analytical and organizational ability.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Effective problem identification and solution skills
• Ability to Mentor and effective work in Cross-functional teams.

Desired Characteristics

• Experience of Designing Digital Electronics, high speed design, Analog and mixed signal design, Dealing with design life cycle
• Proficiency in ECAD suite of tools from Cadence.
• Expertise in Signal Integrity and simulations
• Deep knowledge of compliance requirements.
• Deep understand of the Mak Vie product architecture.
• Hands on experience in Verilog HDL, FPGA development tools, simulation, packaging, and debug would be an added advantage.
• Experience in Agile methodology.
