SUMMARY
We’re looking for a creative, sports-savvy Junior Social Media Coordinator to join our growing marketing team. In this role, you’ll support the planning, execution, and monitoring of content across all social media platforms. A passion for sports, an understanding of fan culture, and experience using key digital tools are essential. You’ll play a critical role in amplifying our brand voice, building community, and growing engagement in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Content Scheduling & Community Engagement
- Assist with daily scheduling, posting, and audience interaction across platforms including Instagram, X/Twitter, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
- Support community engagement by responding to comments, messages, and fostering conversations that align with the brand’s tone.
Content Planning Collaboration
- Help coordinate social media content calendars to ensure consistent messaging across all platforms.
- Collaborate with marketing and creative teams to align content with promotional initiatives, training programs, and brand campaigns.
- Support coordination of influencer and athlete content contributions, as applicable.
Trend Monitoring & Content Sourcing
- Monitor sports trends, athlete achievements, and pop culture moments to identify content opportunities relevant to our audience.
- Source user-generated content and assist in developing original content that resonates with athletes, families, and our local sports community.
Performance Tracking & Social Media Best Practices
- Assist in tracking post-performance and engagement metrics to help refine future content strategies.
- Stay current on emerging social media tools, platform updates, and content strategies, with a focus on sports training and youth athletic development.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Sports Management, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 1-2 years of experience in social media coordination or management, internships included (preferably within sports, entertainment, or youth brand environments).
- Strong understanding of sports culture, fan engagement strategies, and the digital sports media landscape.
- Familiarity with industry-relevant tools, including: Scheduling/Publishing platforms, Design tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite), Analytics platforms (Native platform insights, Google Analytics), and Social Listening & Community Management tools
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects.
- Strong written communication skills with a keen eye for visual storytelling.
