We are currently seeking an experienced and licensed Master HVAC/R Technician to join our growing team.


Position Summary
We are looking for a highly experienced and licensed Master HVAC Technician to lead HVAC/R operations in a commercial facility setting. This leadership role involves overseeing HVAC operations, mentoring technicians, certifying work hours for licensure and ensuring work is performed to the highest standards. Driving excellence in the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial HVAC/R systems in accordance with company standards and manufacturer specifications.


Scope of Work
The successful candidate will:

  • Train, develop, and support junior HVAC technicians
  • Certify and approve hours for technician licensing purposes
  • Lead the full cycle of HVAC/R system operations in a commercial facility setting


Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage HVAC/R field operations and service teams
  • Develop training programs and mentor HVAC/R technicians
  • Approve, log, and certify work hours for technicians to support their licensing or advancement
  • Perform installations, maintenance, and repairs on HVAC/R systems including chillers, air handlers, boilers, refrigeration units, and more
  • Diagnose electrical and mechanical issues and ensure timely, effective resolutions
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance to ensure optimal performance of all HVAC/R equipment
  • Test, calibrate, and adjust systems as needed for peak functionality
  • Respond to service calls promptly and resolve customer concerns with professionalism
  • Maintain accurate service documentation and records of parts, repairs, and preventive maintenance activities
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with OSHA regulations and EPA refrigerant handling guidelines
  • Provide consultative recommendations for system improvements, upgrades, or replacements
  • Provide quotes and work estimates
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure timely completion of projects within scope and budget

Requirements

  • Valid Master HVAC/R License in Massachusetts (required)
  • Minimum 10+ years of hands-on experience in commercial/industrial HVAC/R systems
  • 3–5 years of supervisory or managerial experience in HVAC operations
  • Universal EPA Refrigerant Certification
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and proficiency with HVAC/R diagnostic equipment
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations and refrigerants such as R-22, R-410A, and R-134A
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to lead teams, prioritize tasks, and work independently
  • Valid U.S. driver's license with at least 3 years of driving history (subject to approval by company’s insurance provider)

Preferred

  • NATE certification or additional HVAC-related certifications
  • Experience with Trane, Carrier, and Johnson Controls systems
  • Familiarity with Building Automation Systems (BAS)
