Description

Giffels Webster has an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer to join our Washington Township office, working to support local communicates with projects that are contributing to improving quality of like for residents of southeast Michigan.


The ideal candidate will possess the ability to work independently on various public infrastructure engineering projects for our municipal clients while assisting architects, developers, property owners, real estate professionals and the residents of the communities we serve. You will work in a team environment led by the Partner in charge/Project Manager on a variety of tasks. 


Typical responsibilities include:

  • Geometrics
  • Grading
  • Pavement design
  • Soil erosion and sediment control
  • Utility (storm, sanitary and water) design
  • Stormwater management and green infrastructure design
  • Traffic plans
  • Details
  • Record drawings
  • Prepare permit applications and cost estimates
  • Construction bid documents
  • Attend meetings
  • Conduct field visits
  • Perform construction administration tasks, including shop drawing review, RFIs, pay applications, and communication with field inspectors and contractors.
  • Grant/funding applications and administration

Requirements

Minimum qualification:

  • You have a civil engineering degree from an ABET accredited university or equivalent amount of applicable experience.
  • At least 1-3 years of Civil Engineering experience
  • Must have experience in AutoCAD software

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in Civil3D
  • Experience with road, storm, sanitary and water design
  • Experience in Bluebeam
  • Exposure to Municipal projects
