Responsibilities:
Systems Reliability Engineering (SRE) is a production-oriented discipline focused on improving service availability, observability, scalability, performance, and efficiency for technology systems in Morgan Stanley by applying sound software engineering principles and adopting the latest technology and tooling. Our core infrastructure processes hundreds of millions of transactions and we serve more than a trillion dollars of assets daily across every global market.
Your Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
You will work closely with engineering/development teams to design, build, and maintain systems.
You will troubleshoot issues across the entire stack: hardware, software, application and network.
You will identify and drive opportunities to improve automation for the company; scope and create automation for deployment, management and visibility of our services.
Spend your time on production management to identify operational improvements and reduce manual intervention.
Represent the RPE organization in design reviews and operational readiness exercises for new and existing services.
Working alongside existing global and regional North America team members on a follow-the-sun basis.
Work Closely with North America Regulatory users on a follow-the-sun basis. Knowledge of Regulatory reporting tool Axiom is mandatory .
Familiar with Finance NY FED reporting Reports .i.e Y9C,FR14, FFIC009 is desirable
Background in Computer Science/Engineering or similar field.
Automation-related experience is particularly valued using scripting languages such as Unix,Phyton.
Awareness of, and ability to reason about modern software & systems architectures, including load-balancing, queueing, caching, distributed systems failure modes, micro services, Cloud, etc.
Practical experience running large scale systems is an advantage.
Hands on experience on enterprise tools such as AppDynamic , Grafana, Splunk .
Experience with Ansible , github or any automation/configuration/release management tools.
Great Problem trouble shooting and debug ability
Familiar with Financial Products like Equity and Fixed Income , securities , different type of risks in an Investment bank , Trade flow
Should be able to contribute in system design and architecture with strong database knowledge .
