Description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our team at our vibrant Oaks Canteen at Midkent College. The successful candidate will support the preparation and service of food and beverages, ensuring high standards of hygiene and customer service.

This role is 27.5 hours per week and 36 weeks per year.

Main Responsibilities and Duties:

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the preparation and serving of meals and snacks to students and staff.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and dining areas.
Follow food safety and hygiene regulations at all times.
Operate kitchen equipment and assist with stock rotation and storage.
Support the catering team during busy service periods.
Provide excellent customer service to all college users.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Previous experience in a catering or food service environment is desirable.
Basic Food Hygiene Certificate or willingness to obtain one.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work efficiently in a busy environment.
Understanding of dietary requirements and allergen awareness.
