Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled Production Supervisor to join our team at ONICON Incorporated. The ideal candidate will lead a diverse and talented team in the manufacturing area. The supervisor provides technical expertise to support the manufacturing process in meeting customer needs and production goals by directing a team of about 40 or more hourly production workers. They are expected to ensure compliance with all manufacturing, environmental, and safety procedures, identify opportunities for process optimization and reliability within the facility, communicate effectively with Operations management, and ensure they are aware of the needs and issues within the plant.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership that drives participation, accountability, and quality of work to all team members.
- Lead team to achieve company goals by communicating expectations, planning, monitoring, and evaluating job performance.
- Maintain a high standard of quality and customer satisfaction by managing workflows through monitoring processes, setting process goals, observing control points and equipment, and overseeing personnel and resources.
- Encourage and foster a team environment of cooperation and buy-in on ideas from all team members.
- Manage production team members to maximize quality and production efficiency.
- Recruit, select, assist in onboarding, train, and mentor team members.
- Maintain and lead daily production planning by scheduling and assigning team members to achieve optimal results, setting priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules as needed, and resolving issues hindering customer satisfaction.
- Ensure the operation of equipment through evaluation, training, maintenance, and requesting repairs as needed.
- Lead and uphold quality by establishing and enforcing environmental and quality standards.
- Provide production updates on productivity to sales, customer service, and operations leads by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production data.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Support the operations team's goal of delivering high-quality products and reducing costs by achieving high efficiency and effective results. Aim to decrease scrap and continuously seek ways to improve environmental and quality standards.
Knowledge and Skills Requirement:
- 1 – 2 years of experience in operations and/or manufacturing environment, supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing a team’s workload.
- Must be organized and detail-oriented with good leadership skills
- Excellent time and process management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, written and verbal.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional negotiation and conflict resolution attributes
- Flexible with working long hours as needed to meet goals.
- Knowledge of health, environmental, and safety regulations.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in production management or related fields.
- Higher level of computer skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Experience in Microsoft Navision (BC) a plus.
