SUMMARY

The E-Commerce and Museum Boutique Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and performance of both the online store and physical gift shop. This role ensures seamless integration between e-commerce and in-person retail strategies, maintaining a consistent brand experience, driving sales, and ensuring excellent customer service. The Lead coordinates inventory, merchandising, marketing efforts, and team supervision to support both channels effectively.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

E-Commerce

  • Oversee the daily operations of the EAA’s e-commerce platform, including product listings, pricing, descriptions, photography, photo editing, and promotional updates.
  • Collaborate with the Purchasing Manager to shape and implement the overall e-commerce revenue strategy in alignment with broader retail goals.
  • Create and execute a comprehensive marketing plan for EAA Retail and e-commerce initiatives, ensuring consistent brand messaging and strategic priorities.
  • Strategize and lead promotional campaigns for major events (e.g., AirVenture, Space Day, Christmas in the Air, Sun N Fun), including the development of ad campaigns, buck slips, and promotional/discount codes for both online and in-store sales.
  • Coordinate with Marketing to drive online traffic through email campaigns, SEO/SEM, and social media engagement.
  • Manage EAA’s presence on third-party e-commerce platforms, including Amazon, ensuring optimized listings and brand consistency.
  • Use project management tools (e.g., Asana) to track and ensure timely delivery of marketing collateral, design assets, and website updates in collaboration with internal teams.
  • Develop and maintain the annual retail marketing calendar; monitor and analyze the effectiveness of all campaigns and promotions, providing performance reports and actionable insights to the Purchasing Manager.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Membership, Marketing, Flight Experiences, and other departments to inform product, pricing, and promotional strategies.
  • Manage all digital campaigns and discount codes across platforms, ensuring accurate implementation, tracking, and reporting.
  • Partner with the Publications team to produce the annual EAA World of Flight calendar, overseeing coordination and alignment with retail objectives.
  • Lead all visual merchandising efforts, including in-store displays, large graphic banners, window signage, sign toppers, and event-specific visual installations such as those for AirVenture, ensuring they are compelling, brand-aligned, and effectively support sales initiatives.
  • Provide timely and professional responses to e-commerce customer inquiries, maintaining a high level of service.
  • All other duties as assigned

Museum Boutique

  • Oversee the daily operation of the physical boutique, ensuring a clean, organized, and inviting retail environment.
  • Supervise and train retail staff, set schedules, and ensure excellent customer service standards.
  • Plan, execute, and maintain all in-store visual merchandising, including product displays, seasonal setups, signage, large graphic banners, sign toppers, and window treatments to support promotions and enhance customer experience.
  • Ensure merchandising aligns with marketing campaigns and event themes, including coordination for special events such as AirVenture and other seasonal initiatives.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with purchasing and inventory teams to ensure accurate stock levels and efficient stock rotation.
  • Support store promotions, discount strategies, and marketing initiatives by ensuring in-store execution matches planned campaigns.
  • Operate and maintain the point-of-sale (POS) system; ensure all sales transactions, returns, and gift card processing are handled accurately and efficiently.
  • Address customer inquiries, concerns, or feedback professionally and promptly.
  • Maintain compliance with safety procedures, workplace policies, and organizational standards within the retail space.
  • Monitor sales trends and adjust merchandising or promotions accordingly.
  • All other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in retail, e-commerce, business, or equivalent 5-7 years’ experience with a strong background in retail. 
  • Minimum of 3-4 years’ retail management or e-commerce experience.
  • Requires PC proficiency in the daily use of multiple software applications, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and Adobe.
  • Design skills are a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

 PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

In an environment working with computers and merchandise.  Frequent sedentary office work involves sitting and frequent use of hands with handling paperwork and use of the keyboard.  This position involves lifting up to 50 lbs. occasionally, standing, bending, twisting, pushing, and pulling. Occasional weekend support.
