Web Developer

About the job:

Collaborate with the Communications team to develop the technical and design needs of the FCP government website(s). Maintains website content, security, responsiveness and keeps competitive with industry trends and standards. Responsible for the development, design and layout of the website in accordance with the requirements of the FCP Government.

Here's what you’ll be doing:

• Develops the overall appearance, construction and functionality of the FCP website
• Coordinates with departments to keep the website up to date
• Executes efficient search engine optimization (SEO) practices
• Writes efficient code by employing a range of programming languages
• Research software and maintains documentation
• Implement contingency plans in case website(s) are unavailable
• Continue to employ website improvements after development
• Implement Server Updates and perform migrations when necessary

 Here’s what you’ll need to be successful:

• Associate’s degree in web development or related field
• 3-5 years’ experience in web development
• Must provide digital portfolio
• PHP, JavaScript HTML and CSS 
• Linux Server Management
• Knowledge of google analytics
• Ability to set up a webserver from scratch
• Must maintain a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the Tribe’s insurance
• Must successfully pass all applicable background checks and drug screens

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in web development or related field
• WordPress is preferred but not required – Must be able to learn WordPress
