About the job:
In this role, you will be responsible for conceptualizing, planning, and executing various events, ensuring seamless coordination and an exceptional experience for attendees. From meetings to large-scale conferences or celebrations, your expertise in event logistics, budgeting, and vendor management will be crucial to success.
Here’s what you’ll be doing:
- Plan and execute events, including gatherings, tours, conferences, and social functions.
- Develop and oversee budgets to ensure cost-effective planning without compromising quality.
- Source and coordinate with vendors, including venues, caterers, AV teams, and entertainment providers.
- Create detailed event timelines, manage permits, and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Collaborate on event marketing strategies, including social media promotion and guest invitations.
- Oversee event setup, including the use of event scheduling software, troubleshoot issues, and ensure smooth execution.
- Attend meetings related to event planning as needed.
What you’ll need to be successful:
- Associate’s degree in event planning or related field.
- Two (2) years of event planning and coordination
- Strong organizational multitasking skills
- Experience managing large scale and multiday events
- Proficiency in event planning software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work under pressure.
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the Tribe’s insurance
- Must successfully pass all applicable background checks and drug screens
Preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Hospitality, or a related field
- Must have either a CMP (Certified Meeting Professional) certificate or CSEP (Certified Special Events Professional) certificate or willing to obtain within 1.5 years of hire
