Field Operations Associate (Part-Time)

Parallel Systems is seeking a part-time Field Operations Associate to support a pilot program testing next-generation freight rail technology across southern Georgia. In this role, you will work closely with our test team to assist with on-site operations, logistics, and data collection at multiple field locations. The role requires flexibility, hands-on problem solving, and a willingness to travel as needed to support evolving program needs.

Responsibilities:

Support daily field operations and execute tasks as directed by Parallel’s test team.
Assist with pilot execution, including site setup, equipment operation, and material handling.
Set up safe work zones using traffic control measures such as cones, signs, and barricades.
Operate a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
Take accurate measurements and record data in accordance with test protocols.
Support vehicle charging and remote diagnostics during off-hours as needed.
Help maintain compliance with operational and safety procedures, including use of PPE.
Assist with documentation, logistics, and other general site duties.

Basic Requirements:

Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Experience working in field environments with physical tasks.
Ability to work independently while collaborating with a remote team.
Familiarity with railroad operations or industrial sites is a plus.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Access to reliable transportation; mileage will be reimbursed according to company policy.

Additional Notes:
This is a part-time role under an initial 6-month contract. Hours are not guaranteed and will vary based on pilot program needs. Flexibility in scheduling and availability for travel across southern Georgia/Savannah is required.

Please note the hourly range in the job posting reflects the new hire hourly range across levels that would be applicable to the position. Final compensation will be commensurate with the candidate’s final level. Also, this range represents base compensation only and does not include equity or benefits, if applicable.

Target Hourly Range:$24—$26 USD
