Title: HR Generalist
Status: Full-time, Exempt
Salary: $65,000 - $75,000 annually, depending on experience
Job Summary:
As part of our HR team, you will be instrumental in shaping our workplace into one where employees flourish, inclusive policies are the foundation, best practices are the standard, and continuous improvement is a shared objective. Your role will encompass being a trusted advisor for both employees and management, offering guidance on employee concerns, policy development and implementation, and leave of absence management.
This is a long-term individual contributor role that may grow into a Sr. Generalist role over time, and consistently partners with leaders, employees, and the internal HR team to ensure HR compliance and best practices for the businesses supported under the shared services program.

Versatile HR Support:
- Be ready to step into various HR roles as required, demonstrating adaptability and a willingness to contribute wherever needed.
- Oversee full-cycle recruitment using tools provided to the shared services companies from reviewing applicants, screening, hiring, and onboarding in collaboration with the leadership team.
- Seamlessly transition between responsibilities, from assisting new employees with onboarding to partnering with senior leadership on specific HR needs.
- Participate in the interactive process with employees to determine Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance and reasonable accommodations.
- Collaborate with payroll and benefits team to provide accurate information on payroll changes, benefits, and direct employees to the appropriate resources for inquiries on payroll and benefits.
- Oversee compliance with I-9 requirements and ensure all employee files are up to date and audit ready.
- Updates the organizational chart with department leaders and the operations team in order to assist with succession planning and staffing needs.
- Assist leaders with employee relations issues as needed (including involuntary terminations), supporting and addressing employee grievances, misconduct, workplace conflicts, policy violations, etc. and escalate to HR Director and other key senior leaders as necessary.
- Ability to research, present, and negotiate fair salaries for both upcoming hires and existing employees.
Compliance and Process Enhancement:
- Play a crucial role in maintaining and ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations, adapting to changes as necessary
- Develop and administer employee and manager trainings (as needed) regarding compliance topics such as non-harassment, organizational policies and procedures, employment law, ADA, FMLA, performance reviews, benefits, disciplinary procedures, ethics, and other human resources services.
Employee Engagement:
- Promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture by offering insights and strategies to enhance employee engagement and retention.
- Collaborate with HR colleagues and leadership to plan and execute employee engagement initiatives.
HR Insights and Analytics:
- Provide analytical data to determine retention and turnover rates, significant factors and implement processes and procedures with the HR team to achieve set key performance indicators (KPIs).
HRIS Management:
- Registers new employees in the HRIS including the processing of the I-9 in a timely and compliant manner
- Terminates employees in the HRIS in a timely manner and collaborates with payroll to distribute final checks in timely manner as required by law.
- First point of contact for employees with HRIS issues (password resets, registrations, etc.) to resolve these cases
- Ensure employee information related changes are made within the HRIS with regards to pay, title, employee status (permanent, PRN, PT or contractor), and other relevant employment information ensuring 100% accuracy with each processing and effective dates.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required:
- At least three (3) years of relative experience in human resources, preferably in a position with high responsibility in a specialist or generalist role.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to present confidently enterprise-wide or in smaller settings.
- Thorough understanding of local and federal regulations that drive HR policies and procedures.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and affirmative action requirements.
- Proficiency in HRIS and data analysis tools.
- Impeccable interpersonal, counseling, and negotiation skills with ability to effectively manage up and sideways.
- Adaptable mindset, capable of embracing change and taking on diverse HR responsibilities.
Education, credentials, and/or training required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Communications, Employment Law, or related field.
- SHRM certification (CP or SCP) or HRCI (PHR or SPHR) is highly preferred.

- Some interoffice travel may be required with use of a company vehicle or mileage reimbursement
