Job Description:

This limited duration opportunity is scheduled to last through June 30, 2027.

We will also consider filling this position as a job rotation assignment for current state employees. The Department of Consumer and Business Services (DCBS) is a progressive business regulatory state agency dedicated to the mission of protecting and serving Oregon's consumers and workers while supporting a positive business climate. The department administers state laws and rules governing workers' compensation, occupational safety and health, financial institutions, insurance companies and building codes. The department has consumer protection and education programs, offices, and ombuds to help consumers, injured workers, and businesses.

This position is with the Central Services Division (CSD). CSD is responsible for providing accounting, budgeting, collections, procurement, facilities management, information technology, human resources, and research services to the department.

This position is represented by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU).

This position is eligible to telework on a part-time basis once the incumbent has gained the proficiency to perform work independently. However, regular, scheduled office hours are also required.

Here’s what you will do:

As the Position Management Specialist, you will assist in the development of the agency's biennial budget and in the management of the agency's financial reports.  Duties include:

  • Responsibility for managing a segment of the Shared Services budget development, execution, financial reporting, and performance monitoring to the Chief Financial Officer and executive management

  • Input of data into the Oregon Budget Information Tracking System (ORBITS) and financial reports

  • Assisting in the gathering and analysis of budget-related data

Here’s what you need to qualify:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Two years of secretarial or basic administrative support experience that includes records processing, generating documents, and gathering and sorting data

OR

  • An associate degree in general office occupations and one year of experience with records processing, generating documents, and gathering and sorting data

OR

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience

Requested Skills:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Workday

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Strong skills in organizing work efficiently and managing multiple tasks with interruptions

  • Proven time-management skills, including the ability to plan and organize work efficiently

  • The salary range listed is the non-PERS eligible rate. If you’re already a participating PERS member or once you become PERS eligible after 6 months of employment, the salary range will increase by 6.95% and the required 6% employee retirement contribution will be deducted from your pay.
