Full Time
This position will require receiving, testing and evaluation of warranty returns through – data entry, photo-documentation, testing triage, sample preparation, testing, analysis, filing, storage, and any related organizational tasks. This position will also require the technician to perform other relevant product quality tasks such as basic technical recommendations and/or testing related tasks. Responsible for keeping lab areas clean and organized.
-Receives, conducts, and documents claim/warranty return evaluations utilizing various inspection methods including but not limited to visual, dimensional, analytical and functionality tests. Utilizes material and failure analysis techniques to determine the products state of functionality and/or the products cause of failure. Communicates evaluation results to internal stakeholders, within product quality and the warranty group.
-Data entry into Warranty Management System, filing, storage and organizing of claims. Assist with basic technical recommendations for warranty team’s claim determination.
-Participates and assists in Quality Investigations and/or alerts. Including but not limited to: special testing, inspection, root cause and failure analysis, etc.
-Continually Seeks out opportunities to contribute to the business success through proactive involvement in team initiatives.
Qualifications:
Education, Experience and Knowledge:
· Requires a high school diploma or equivalent with 3-5 yrs of experience.
· Must have good working knowledge of various software applications such as Microsoft Office products and have advanced organizational and problem-solving skills.
· Good cross-functional communication skills including:
o Interpersonal Skills o Motivated individual with positive attitude with proven ability to interact and collaborate cross-functionally.
· Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
· Experience and knowledge of lab testing methodologies, tools, and processes. · Ability to document test steps and results in a detailed and understandable manner.
· Demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness and attention to detail (looks for ways to improve/promote quality).
Preferred
· Direct knowledge and experience in a manufacturing environment and experience with various machines (e.g. extrusion, molding, or machining of products, etc.)
Experience with various testing as required by investigation such as:
o Visual examination
-Photography
-Stereo Microscopy
-Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM)
o Functional testing
- Pressure Testing
-Disassembly
-Tensile or Mechanical Testing
-Familiar with various Quality Control Test methods for manufacturing environment
o Analytical testing
-Fourier Transform Spectroscopy (FTIR)
-Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) including Oxidation Induction Time (OIT) Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS)
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:
ASQ Quality Technician a plus
Pay range: $24.69 - $37.03/hr. depending on qualifications/experience.
