The Collection Agent III will provide a consistently high level of support to the Kapitus Legal Operations team by contacting our business owners by phone and/or email for past due accounts that we may or may not have a judgment on. He/she will negotiate payments on past due contracts as well as arranging repayment programs. He/she will review the account details and may recommend post judgment remedies. In addition, the Legal Recovery Specialist will maintain the highest level of compliance with federal and state statutes based on departmental procedures.

What you will do:

• Provide tools, strategies and best in class service to establish repayment behaviors with customers

• Contact the Merchant to negotiate payment plans, while adhering to all legal regulations and compliance requirements
• Make detailed record of all customer communications in our system of record in addition to monitoring payment plans 
• Monitors the accounts and has the knowledge and ability to skip trace to find location and asset information
• Ensure appropriate written correspondence is generated and sent to customers
• Access database information, and locating other publicly available records in adherence with the Kapitus’ best practices aligned with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act
• Achieve department KPIs for calls to customers and payment arrangements, while meeting all quality guidelines
• Identify and recommend improvement opportunities to all collections/recovery specific platforms, systems, and tools to support operational effectiveness, improve customer experience, and to remain at the forefront of technology in the collections space

What we’re looking for:

• High School Diploma required; college preferred
• 5-7+ Years of Collections, Recovery
• Call Center experience
• Legal collection experience preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Can manage a high-volume workload
• Strong negotiating skills and experience
• Experience being a contributor for policies and procedures
• Experience achieving metric and quality performance
