About The Job
The Technical Manager is responsible for the maintenance (mechanical/controls), preventative maintenance and reliability of Chattanooga Process and Packaging equipment. This is accomplished through leadership of technical personnel, on-the-floor technical support, and continuous improvement of equipment and processes. This role is expected to coach, teach, and develop their direct reports as well as the rest of the organization on the technical aspects of our operations.
Main Responsibilities:
Serve as a technical resource for Maintenance Technicians.
Perform leadership administrative duties for Process and Packaging Mechanics.
Ensure proper work order assignments and completions.
Establish and track plant equipment Key Performance Indicators (KPI's).
Evaluate change part / new equipment requirements for new products or packaging configurations.
Drive continuous improvement of equipment efficiency and downtime performance.
Develop and implement capital projects to support growth and improve performance.
Manage applicable Processing and Packaging Maintenance budgets as required.
Provide daily on-the-floor troubleshooting assistance.
Develop and implement Maintenance Technician training and development plans.
Assist in the specification, procurement, and documentation of purchased equipment.
Track and manage applicable Maintenance parts and labor budgets.
Manage outside contractors and vendors as required to support Maintenance staff.
About You
Education: You must have a High School Diploma or GED. A two (2) or four (4) year degree in electrical, electronics, or electromechanical fields, preferred.
Experience: You must have seven (7+) years' demonstrated experience performing maintenance and repairs of automated manufacturing equipment, with an emphasis on electrical and control systems.
Preferred Professional Skills
10+ years demonstrated experience performing maintenance and repairs of automated equipment, with an emphasis on electrical and control systems.
Two (2) or Four (4)-year degree in electrical, electronics, or electromechanical fields.
Electrical License and willingness to maintain license while employed by Opella.
Experience in a GMP/cGMP manufacturing environment.
