About the Job

This role leads regional and global external manufacturing procurement strategy for Opella NA, serving as the single point of contact for business and M&S leadership. It drives innovation, cost optimization, and strategic supplier partnerships.  The position oversees sourcing strategy, supplier relationship management, and portfolio rationalization to support growth, sustainability, and operational excellence.

Main Responsibilities:

Regional:

• Engaging at Opella NA level and be the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for the Business and M&S Heads of NA
• Focal point for NA Innovation, Growth and Science hubs in NA, contribute to and drive the implementation of the Opella Growth Strategy together with Business and respective Regional functional teams including the establishment of a competitive and reliable local CMO & C(D)MO panel.
• Manage existing base business CMO & CDMO panel in the region to deliver cost, cash and competitive advantage to Opella in the region.
• Work closely with the Business and Regional Innovation team(s), ensuring alignment of strategy, portfolio, execution, and investment for innovation & NPD. Be a Strategic partner for the Development Centers teams/New Product Development (NPD) centers working for their regional category
• Implementing & executing competitive and innovative category strategies: 1) based on market intelligence: assessing risks and opportunities; 2) fully aligned on budget & strategic plan, delivering value to the businesses,
• Delivering world class total savings objectives at regional level to execute 100% of all levers
• Ensuring procurement technical excellence (TCO, SRM, Market Intel, Risk Management, Innovation, CSR, HSE, compliance, quality, Sustainability…),
• Co-building make vs. buy strategy in the Region, in line with the global strategy, the competitive environment and the local needs.
• Creating and developing a team of talented people with a high business acumen and appetite for transformation journey

Global:

• Establish sourcing business cases allowing the use of China & AMEA C(D)MOs & CMO for global sourcing.
• Ensure that global performance meets expectations on fundamentals (HSE/Sustainability, Quality, Sanofi Manufacturing System, Supply) while identifying and evaluating potential strategic business partners.
• Align with the other Region Heads in External Manufacturing Procurement the best sourcing strategy for the regional brands and global brands.

About You:

• Business administration, master’s degree and / or University degree in pharmaceutical engineering/process, or equivalent. Master in procurement is suitable.
• At least 15 years’ experience in a Management or Transversal role with proven record in term of change management and result delivery - plus experience in FMCG or FMCH
• Previous senior management positions in NA as well as global positions
• Strong business acumen and ability to build sustainable business connectivity
• Strong capability to manage business and interact with executive level: internal stakeholders, Suppliers and complex environment
• Solid understanding of both Procurement and Operations; a combination of functional experiences in both Manufacturing and SCM as well as Procurement would be ideal
• Sound experience in innovation management and business case development
• Leadership skills/experience with proven track record in building and leading cross functional teams
• Effective communication skills
