Position Details:

The Production Planner ensures efficient and timely planning and coordinating of production schedules to meet customer delivery deadlines. The role collaborates closely with production teams, procurement and production and sales support teams to align scheduling with inventory availability and production capacity.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Production Planning

Manage the flow of work orders to meet production KPIs.
Accurately maintain the Bill of Materials (BOM) system ensuring production team have accurate parts for work orders.
Maintain production schedules as per KPI and analyse production specifications, capacity and lead-times efficiently.
Monitor daily and weekly production progress, making adjustments to schedules as required to avoid delays.

Coordination and Communication

Work closely with production managers, team leaders, and supervisors to allocate resources effectively.
Liaise with procurement to ensure materials and supplies are available to meet production schedules.
Communicate schedule changes and priorities to relevant departments, including logistics and sales teams, considering the customer’s expectation.

Data Analysis and Reporting

Provide regular update reports to management on production progress and potential bottlenecks.
Analyse production data and trends to improve scheduling efficiency and reduce waste.

Problem-Solving and Continuous Improvement

Identify scheduling conflicts or production inefficiencies and propose solutions to minimise downtime and delays.
Collaborate with the production team to implement process improvements that enhance workflow and productivity.
Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions for missed schedules or quality issues.

Compliance and Quality Assurance

Ensure production schedules align with quality standards and safety regulations.
Support adherence to company policies and sustainable manufacturing practices.
