JOB PURPOSE

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to drive the growth and performance of the Commercial Sales 2 region.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the Bank’s commercial banking footprint.
  • Strengthen Bank’s market share and position through targeted client acquisition, relationship management, and tailored financial solutions.
  • Lead and mentor team members to achieve high performance and deliver on key targets.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Sales Management

  • Drive loan and deposit growth in line with targets set.
  • Monitor and enhance performance of the team.
  • Provide strategic lending expertise to support portfolio growth and quality.
  • Track and analyse sales performance metrics regularly.
  • Conduct performance reviews and strategy sessions with the team.
  • Share market insights and lending best practices to support deal origination and execution.

2. Service Management

  • Ensure timely and accurate credit processing and account reviews.
  • Maintain asset quality in line with the Bank’s risk appetite.
  • Uphold service standards and ensure full compliance with internal and regulatory guidelines.
  • Monitor turnaround times for credit approvals and renewals.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance service delivery and compliance.

3. Client Relationship Management

  • Strengthen relationships and deepen wallet share of the clients through proactive engagement and cross sell.
  • Plan and implement customer growth, retention and exit strategies.
  • Conduct regular client visits and strategic meetings to deepen relationships.
  • Identify client needs and offer tailored financial solutions.

4. Additional Responsibilities

  • Promote cross-divisional collaboration on matters related to the portfolio.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of portfolio performance and income.
  • Maintain full compliance with AMLA and credit risk regulations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any relevant discipline, preferably in Banking & Finance or equivalent
  • Minimum 8-10 years of banking experience.
  • Keep abreast with current economic conditions, policies and trends in the country.
  • Strong technical skills in Commercial Banking credit and product/operational knowledge.
  • Strong marketing skills and network in the Commercial Banking segment.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience in leading and managing people.  
  • Sharp business acumen and industry knowledge.
