10The Aging and Disability Resource Center of Central Wisconsin (ADRC-CW) is a regional organization serving older and disabled adults in the four-county region of Langlade, Lincoln, Marathon, and Wood Counties. Services provided include information and assistance, options counseling, enrollment into publicly-funded long-term care programs, benefits counseling, elderly nutrition program, caregiver support, healthy living programs, and other services that are integrated to meet the mission of the ADRC-CW.
The mission of the ADRC-CW is to promote choice and independence through personalized education, advocacy, and access to services that prevent, delay, and lessen the impact of aging and disabilities in the lives of adults.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Fill-in, part-time position for Nutrition Site Manager
Wisconsin Rapids and Nekoosa: Employee will work various hours including 9:15a.m.- 2:00p.m. or 9:45a.m. to 1:45p.m. on various days Monday-Friday to fill in for regular Nutrition Site Manager staff.
Employee oversees day to day details related to Meals on Wheels packaging/distribution and Senior Dining services. Includes regular customer interactions, assurance of food safety and sanitation processes, providing oversight of serving meals, creating meal and supply orders. The employee will work closely with agency partners, co-workers, volunteers, and the public, requiring effective communication skills.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school graduation or equivalent preferred. Experience in food service is desirable. Serving Safe Food Training will be provided. Must have a driver's license and a driving record that meets County standards.
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Maintains daily operations, cleanliness, and standards for food safety for nutrition program services.
Assures food and meal temperatures are maintained according to safe food handling standards. Maintains temperature logs for food and holding equipment. Completes temperature testing procedures to assure food safety.
Follows proper food safety and sanitation procedures including appropriate handwashing and calibrating thermometers. Reads menus to determine appropriate serving utensils and appropriate foods for specialized diets; monitors quality and quantity of food.
Oversees volunteers.
Prepares accurate participant service documents and other data as part of the reporting requirements of the nutrition program. Verifies customer eligibility for service based on customer registration form details.
Encourages socialization of senior dining customers.
Works closely with the Nutrition Program leadership staff and other partners as appropriate to recommend new or improved models for service improvements.
Communicates daily with clerical services team regarding meal and supply orders, and for customer follow-up with unserved/undelivered meals.
Alerts supervisor to changes in service, problems, unusual circumstances, and/or areas needing improvement.
Uses dish machine to wash dishes.
Greets customers and takes meal reservations.
Responsible for locked contribution box being delivered to ADRC-CW office at the end of shift.
Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
Uses basic technology tools including email.
Performs related work as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Ability to lift 40 pounds and transport with use of a cart.
Knowledge and understanding of the aging process and persons with disabilities.
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures and requirements of a highly susceptible population. Skill in utilizing good hygiene and food safety procedures.
Ability to plan and organize work effectively.
Skill in completing records promptly and accurately.
Ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative.
Ability to cooperate with people and communicate effectively in person, by phone, and in writing with a variety of groups and individuals.
Ability to follow instructions and be flexible.
Ability to do general recordkeeping and simple mathematical calculations.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of participants.
Ability to contribute to a positive work culture that fosters excellent customer service and teamwork.
Compensation:
Starting salary: $15.75. No other benefits are provided for this casual, part-time position.
