Base salary from $112,628 – 122,702 + 17% superannuation
About the opportunity
The Associate Finance Manager – Central Services will provide high level strategic and insightful commercial advice and decision support, performance analysis and management reporting, and acts as the technical lead for the entire Central Services Corporate Finance portfolio.
This position focuses on supporting the relationship management and business/decision support partnering teams (Senior Finance Manager and Finance Manager). Responsible for relationships with less-complex stakeholders and works collaboratively with other Financial Services staff to provide effective, efficient and integrated day to day operational financial management and accounting services. The position advises a range of stakeholders across the Faculties and Schools for financial matters and contributes to continuous improvement and new initiatives within both wider Financial Services and across Faculties and Schools.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
provide day-to-day relationship management and business partnering as the portfolio’s lead point of contact for the Financial Services team
support development of portfolio activities/budgets; advanced accounting and management reporting
support and work with Senior Finance Manager and Finance Manager to ensure adherence to general financial governance, related compliance and services in a customer focused and timely manner
seek continuous improvement, uplift of meaning insights and business value to your partnered stakeholder group, maintaining effective working relationships with key networks
maintain and champion compliance with Procurement and Finance policies and procedures across Faculties and Schools
undertake any other duties appropriate to the role classification as required by the Associate Director of Research Finance and of senior management.
About you
bachelor's degree in Accounting / Finance / Management / relevant field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
part qualified or membership of CPA Australia or the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia or equivalent
demonstrated ability to interpret, apply and integrate complex financial policies and procedures, external requirements and accounting standards
demonstrated ability to provide operational financial insights, sound financial management, decision support, advice, analysis and support to client group/faculty and finance team
highly developed communication and interpersonal skills to exercise initiative, tact, discretion, and good judgement in supporting stakeholders making good financial business decisions
able proficiency to navigate across a complex (matrix reporting) enterprise environments
strong relationship management skills across all levels of the organisation, inspiring confidence and trust
excellent Microsoft Office skills particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint; with the ability to adapt and utilise complex Excel spreadsheets for financial reporting and analysis, budget and forecast preparation and analysis, KPI reporting, ad-hoc analysis etc.
