JOB SUMMARY: 

  • The Casino Auditor performs various audits of the company’s financial / non-financial transactions and investigate and report discrepancies from internal control policies.

  • The Casino Auditor is involved in the preparation of daily tax transmittal and other documentation to the Missouri Gaming Commission. 

  • Special project assignments will include assignments from Controller on an as needed basis. 

  • This position works closely with the Casino Audit Supervisor, Controller, and other Department Team members and all other company personnel.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Performs daily audits of casino operations financial and non-financial transactions and investigate and report discrepancies from internal control policies. 
  • Shall become familiar with the internal control standards to adequately perform daily duties and identify improvement opportunities with audit system. 
  • Identifies problems, discusses, recommends and implements solutions to resolve issues. 
  • Prepares the daily tax transmittal and other documentation to Missouri Gaming Commission as required. 
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable local, state and federal laws.
  • Receives casino and non-casino generated accounting records and reports any deviations from the approved System of Internal Controls and Missouri Gaming Commission Regulations. 
  • Assists with the gathering of documents requested by internal and external auditors. 
  • Aids in the preparation and maintenance of journal entries for gaming and non-gaming audits and related revenue reports and schedules.
  • Creates and maintains Standard Operating Procedures for audit programs.
  • Prepares financial and statistical reports for internal and external reporting requirements.
  • Responds to customer inquiries (including but not limited to credit card charges, W2-G information, Win/Loss Statements). 
  • Communicates with all departments on variances, statistics and exceptions to policies and procedures.
  • Participates in admission and slot meter reading requests and toke counts.
  • Makes adjustments to promotional credits to patron’s accounts due to a discrepancies identified during the audit process.

  • Issues comps per internal comping guidelines.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. 
  • Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity in all situations and recognize standards required by a regulated business. 

  • Must be 21 years of age. 

  • Must be able to obtain Missouri Gaming License.  

  • Must be able to work any day of the week and any shift, including holidays and weekends. 
  • Must present a well-groomed appearance.
  • Must have excellent customer service/communication skills. 
  • Knowledgeable in data entry and able to read / interpret output from a computer
  • Proficient user of MS Office applications.  
  • Experience within and understanding the hospitality or gaming industry preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills. 
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. 
  • Detail oriented and a quick learner.

WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Must be able to work independently along with a team mentality. 
  • Must be able to bend, twist, turn, push and pull, as well as lift and carry above/below the shoulders a minimum of 25 lbs or more. 
  • Must be able to work at a fast pace and in stressful situations. 
  • Is able to tolerate areas containing second-hand smoke, high noise levels, bright lights and dust. 
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. 
  • Must be able to maneuver around office areas, effectively work in high traffic areas and respond to visual and aural cues.
  • Mathematical abilities including addition and subtraction/accurate record keeping required. 
  • Must have the dexterity to grip and work necessary items (chips, 10 key adding machine, money bags, computers, money, etc.).

Licensing and Certification Required:

Employees may be required to obtain a Missouri Gaming Commission license.  The initial license is paid for by the employee through payroll deduction.  All subsequent renewals for the license are paid by Harrah’s North Kansas City.
